Cadmium Zinc Telluride Imager
We are part of the core instrument team of CZTI, one of the five instruments on AstroSat. We use CZTI to search for Gamma-Ray Bursts, counterparts to Fast Radio Bursts, and counterparts to Gravitational Wave sources. We have established some of the world's most sensitive upper limits to emission from GW sources, and helped localize GW170817 by non-detection! We continue to work on algorithms to improve the sensitivity of CZTI for such high-energy transients.
We are also applying the lessons learned from CZTI in the design of Daksha.
